The idea of International Women’s Day originated in 1910, gaining international recognition in 1914 and a fixed date on March 8 since then. The day serves as a reminder of the historical struggles for women’s rights, including the right to vote and an end to gender discrimination. Purple, green, and white are the traditional colors of International Women’s Day, with roots in the UK’s Women’s Social and Political Union from the early 1900s. Each holds unique symbolic meanings; purple stands for justice and dignity, green represents hope, and white symbolizes purity.

Participation in International Women’s Day is an opportunity to drive awareness and appreciation for women’s inclusion. By inspiring others to understand and value this inclusion, we contribute to creating a better world. The organizers stress the importance of empowering women to feel a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment through this inclusive approach. Embrace this day as a splendid opportunity to extend thoughtful wishes to the women in your life and to appreciate their strength, resilience, and invaluable contributions.
