Keep in mind, I specifically mentioned your Skadate site directory, not some other website or subdomain. It’s important to understand that Google treats a subdomain as a distinct entity, separate from your main site. Consequently, rankings and attributes won’t transfer to your dating site if your WordPress blog is set up on a subdomain.
Ensure that your blog is accessible at https://your-skadate-site.com/blog to maintain the connection and optimize your site’s overall performance. This will require a few tweaks on your .htaccess file. If you’re not using cPanel, you will also need to upload WordPress software via an FTP client such as FileZilla.
Now, let’s look into the step-by-step guide for installing WordPress to the /blog directory using cPanel:
- Access Your cPanel: Log in to your cPanel account provided by your hosting provider.
- Locate the “File Manager”: In the cPanel dashboard, find and click on the “File Manager” icon.
- Navigate to Skadate Directory: Inside the File Manager, navigate to the root directory of your Skadate website.
- Create a New Directory: Right-click within the Skadate directory, choose “New Folder,” and name it “blog.”
- Download WordPress: Visit the official WordPress website (https://wordpress.org/download/) and download the latest version of WordPress.

Step #4: Create Something Different or Better
Now it’s time to create some super high-quality content.
When it comes to contents to improve your Skadate SEO, you’ve got two options:
Option #1: You can create something different.
Option #2: You can create something better.
Sometimes, the goal is to develop content that surpasses existing material in terms of size and quality. Other times, the key is to offer something entirely unique to make your content stand out.

Let’s say you decide to optimize content around “Online Dating”. Upon analyzing Google’s first page, you observe a prevalence of list posts such as “X Ways to Date Online Like a Pro”

Instead, consider crafting something entirely different, like an “Ultimate Guide to Online Dating”. By taking this approach, your content becomes distinctive, garnering shares, comments, and, most importantly, valuable backlinks.
Now, if your aim is to produce content that is better than what already ranks on the first page of Google, you must strive for excellence. In this scenario, the goal is to publish content that is at least 10 times superior to existing material.
For instance, consider the topic of “SEO tools.” While many existing pieces list only 10-20 tools, you decide to go above and beyond by creating a comprehensive list of 177 SEO tools. As a result, your post secures a prominent position in the top 3 for the keyword “SEO Tools.”
Step #5: Turbocharge your Skadate SEO with a Hook
To enhance the search engine rankings of your Skadate website in 2024, you need to get backlinks—quite a lot of them, to be precise.
In fact, according to a study by Stone Temple Consulting that was published on the Moz blog, links are still strongly correlated with first page Google rankings.
Which means they’re still a key Google ranking factor.
Now, the crucial question arises.
How do you get these valuable backlinks for your dating blog?
The answer lies in understanding the reasons why people link to particular content within your dating niche—a concept often referred to as “The Hook.”
Then, include that “Hook” in your content.

Upon closer inspection, I noticed a significant pattern: these bloggers consistently linked to content rich in stats and data.

- Identifying Trending Topics: Keep an eye on trending topics within around your dating niche. Notice patterns and discussions gaining traction among bloggers.
- Crafting a Data-Rich Study: Choose a trending topic, like voice search, and conduct an in-depth study. Ensure your study is packed with compelling stats to make it a valuable resource for your audience.
- Promoting Data-Driven Content: Once your study is published, actively promote it across relevant channels and platforms to maximize visibility.
- Tracking Backlinks: Regularly monitor backlinks to your data-rich content. Keep a record of the number of backlinks and the specific stats that are being referenced.
- Utilizing Ultimate Guides as Another Hook: Identify another key topic in your dating niche and create an Ultimate Guide that serves as a comprehensive resource.
- Publishing and Promoting the Ultimate Guide: Publish the Ultimate Guide and promote it strategically. Highlight its depth and completeness to attract attention.
- Observing Linking Patterns: Pay attention to bloggers who touch on your chosen topic but may lack the space to cover it comprehensively. These bloggers are likely to link to your Ultimate Guide as a valuable resource for their readers.

Step #6: Optimize For On-Page SEO for Enhanced Skadate SEO
This step is all about keyword-optimizing your content for SEO.
While the discussion around on-page SEO is a vast topic that can’t be fully covered in a single post, I’ll aim to provide comprehensive insights. Here, I’ll outline three key on-page SEO techniques that merit your attention in 2024.
Yup, internal linking still works.
However, precision is key.
Specifically, the focus should be on linking from high-authority web pages to pages within your site that could benefit from more authority.
For instance, a few years ago, I authored “Skadate Dating Software Review and Download”.
In this case, I identified a page on my site already with lots of page authority and linked from that authoritative content to my newly published guide.
Short, Keyword-Rich URLs
An analysis of 11.8 million Google search results found something that surprised a lot of people:
When it comes to search engine optimization, short URLs generally outperform long URLs.
That’s why I make my URLs either just my keyword…
… Or my target keyword plus one more word:
Either way works.
Finally, I optimize my content for Semantic SEO.
In simpler terms, I identify words closely related to my target keyword and incorporate them into my content.
To replicate this approach, initiate a search by entering your target keyword into Google Images.
There, Google will present you with words and phrases it deems closely connected to your chosen topic.
Following that, perform a regular Google search using the same keyword and scroll down to locate the “Searches related to…” section.
Finally, sprinkle any of the terms that you find into your content:
And you’re set.
Step #7: Optimize For Search Intent
Several years back, I authored a post centered around strategies to boost website traffic. Despite its creation, the post struggled to secure a top-ranking position for my target keyword, “increase website traffic”.
A thorough analysis of Google’s first page revealed a crucial insight: my content failed to align with the search intent associated with the keyword.
Upon scrutinizing the existing content ranking for “increase website traffic,” it became evident that most entries provided bite-sized traffic tips.
In contrast, my post presented a high-level process, deviating from the expected user experience. To address this mismatch, I underwent a content revision, transforming my process into a more user-friendly list format.
The key takeaway lies in the process of understanding search intent, assessing user experience, and adapting content that better meet user expectations.
Whether through a revision of existing content or the proactive optimization of new posts, the goal is to consistently offer content that aligns with the prevailing search intent, thereby enhancing rankings and driving increased search engine traffic.
Step #8: Focus On Content Design
The design might be the most underrated part of content marketing.
You can have the best content ever written.
But if it looks like this…
…it’s usually not going to get much traction.
That’s why I invest a lot of my marketing budget into content design.
That said, a great content design doesn’t have to break the bank. In fact, here are 4 types of visual content that are super easy to pull off.
Graphs and Charts
These work so well that I try to include at least one chart in every post.
Because they make data easy to understand.
For example, take this stat from my mobile SEO guide.
I don’t know about you, but I have a hard time picturing 27.8 billion anything.
So I had our designer create a nice chart.
As a bonus, people will sometimes use your chart in a blog post… and link back to you.
Screenshots and Pictures
You might have noticed that I use lots of screenshots in every post.
In fact, this single post has 78 screenshots:

I don’t use screenshots just for the sake of using screenshots.
I only use them if it helps someone implement a specific step.

Screenshots only make sense when you describe something technical.

Graphics and visualizations are kind of like charts. But instead of visualizing data, they visualize concepts.

But it’s hard to picture this idea in your mind.
So our designer made a simple visual that makes this concept easy to understand.
Step #9: Build Links to Your Page
Now it’s time to actively build links to your content.
Specifically, we’re going to tap into 3 link building strategies that are working really well right now.
Broken Link Building
Here’s where you find a broken link on someone’s site…
…and offer your content as a replacement.
For example, this is an outreach email that I sent to a blogger in the marketing niche:
(Note how specific I am. I don’t say “Please consider linking to me in a blog post”. I have a specific place on a specific page where my link makes sense.)
And because I helped the person out before asking for anything, they were happy to add my link:
This strategy is old school.
But it still works.
First, find a site that’s ranking for a keyword you want to rank for.
For example, I’m trying to rank for the keyword “SEO Audit”.
So I grab this result from the first page…
…and look at their backlinks.
I can see that this page has links from 407 domains:
So I should be able to get at least a handful of the same links they have.
To do that, I go one by one through their backlinks.
And find pages where my link would add value.
For example, this post mentions my competitor’s content by name:
There’s no reason to link to my post there. So I moved on to the next opportunity on the list.
And I came across this post:
This time, the link to my competitor’s page is part of a big list of resources.
A list that would be even better and more complete with a link to my SEO audit post.
This strategy is less about links… and more about getting your content in front of the right people.
(Specifically: people that run blogs in your niche.)
